Using Prompts

There are two ways to run a saved prompt: copy it from the Prompt Library into your AI chat, or ask the agent to list prompts with the prompts_menu tool and run one. Either way, add an InsightfulPipe MCP server to your AI client first.

Before you start

  • Add the server for your data source, or the unified https://main.insightfulmcp.com/, to your AI client. See Claude Setup or ChatGPT Setup.
  • Make sure the brand's accounts are connected and Active.

Method 1: copy and paste

  1. Open the prompt in the Prompt Library.
  2. Click Copy Prompt.
  3. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client, and name the brand.

Use this when you want to adjust the wording before running it.

Method 2: ask the agent

  1. Ask: "List the InsightfulPipe prompts for Google Ads."
  2. The agent calls prompts_menu and shows the prompt names.
  3. Ask it to run one for a brand, for example "Run the first one for Northwind."

Keep favorites handy

Mark prompts you use often as Favorite in the Prompt Library so they are quick to find.

If the agent has no data

  • Check that the MCP server is enabled in the chat.
  • Name the brand in your message.
  • Check the connection status in Connectors.
