Overview

InsightfulPipe connectors link your marketing and data platform accounts to AI agents. You connect each account once in the app, and any MCP client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI or Codex) or the insightfulpipe CLI can then use it through a hosted server such as https://google-ads.insightfulmcp.com/, or through https://main.insightfulmcp.com/ for every connected source at once.

How a connection works

  1. In the app, open Connectors, choose a platform and click Connect.
  2. Under Permissions, choose Read Only or Read + Write where the platform offers it.
  3. Sign in to the platform, or enter the API key or connection details for platforms that use them, such as Shopify, Klaviyo or PostgreSQL, and select the accounts where the platform asks.
  4. Add the platform's MCP server or the unified server to your AI client and click Authorize access.

Each selected account is its own connection inside a brand, and connections count toward your plan's limit. Plans start at $29.99/month with a 7-day free trial; see pricing.

Platform server or unified server

  • Platform server: https://<platform>.insightfulmcp.com/ with the server name <platform>-mcp, for example google-ads-mcp. Agents only see that platform's accounts.
  • Unified server: https://main.insightfulmcp.com/ with the server name main-mcp. Agents see every connected source in the workspace and can call list_platforms to discover them. See Unified MCP Server.
  • Instagram is the one host that differs from its app name: https://instagram.insightfulmcp.com/.
  • Every connector guide shows its exact endpoint and server name.

Action control

  • Owners, admins and operators choose which actions each connected account exposes to agents in Configure actions for this account, with tabs for All, Read only, Write and Destructive.
  • Destructive actions are off by default, and Read Only connections can't run write actions.
  • Members with the User role only reach accounts granted to them, and only with read actions. See roles and permissions.

Troubleshooting

  • The agent can't see an account: check that the connection is Active in Connectors and belongs to the workspace you authorized.
  • A connection shows Expired or Reconnect required: reconnect it and sign in to the platform again.
  • An action is refused: see MCP troubleshooting for the exact error messages.
