Connectors
A connector links a platform to InsightfulPipe. Each account you connect, such as one Google Ads customer or one Meta ad account, becomes a connection that belongs to one brand and can be queried by AI agents over MCP or the CLI.
How a connection works
- You click Connect on a platform, sign in to that platform and pick the accounts to add.
- Each selected account is stored as its own connection under the brand you choose.
- Tokens are stored encrypted. When an agent asks a question, InsightfulPipe calls the platform API for that account.
- The connections table shows a status such as Active, Expired or Reconnect required, and an access badge: Read Only or Read & Write.
Read Only or Read + Write
Many platforms show a Permissions picker when you connect, with Read Only and Read + Write. A Read Only connection can never run write actions. To enable writes later, reconnect with Read + Write.
Which actions an agent can run
Owners, administrators and operators open Configure actions for this account to choose the actions a connection exposes. The modal has All, Read only, Write and Destructive tabs. Destructive actions are off until someone turns them on, and disabled actions are hidden from agents as well as blocked.
Keep connections healthy
- Reconnect a connection when its status changes from Active.
- Use Move to brand if a connection sits under the wrong brand.
- Remove connections you no longer need so agents can't reach them.
