No. Microsoft publishes its own open-source Clarity MCP server, which you run locally with npx. InsightfulPipe is an independent, hosted server that queries Clarity with your project's API token. InsightfulPipe is not affiliated with Microsoft.

Dashboard metrics for the last one to three days: traffic, scroll depth, engagement time, popular pages, page titles, referrers, rage clicks, dead clicks, quick backs, excessive scrolling, script errors and error clicks. Results can be broken down by browser, device, operating system, country or region, source, medium, campaign, channel and URL.

No. The server answers dashboard questions only. Session recordings and heatmaps stay in Microsoft Clarity, where you can open them after your assistant points you to the pages worth reviewing.

No. The Clarity MCP server is read-only. It cannot change project settings, masking rules or tracking code.

The server is read-only, so your AI cannot change your Clarity project. Owners, admins and operators choose whether each connected project exposes the action, and your AI is given exactly what they allow; anything outside it is blocked. Restricted team members only get read actions on the projects they have been granted.

Yes. Each Clarity API token belongs to one project, so add a token for every project you want to query. Your assistant can then compare projects in one conversation.

Clarity uses API tokens rather than OAuth. A project admin generates a Data Export API token under Settings, then Data Export, in Clarity, and you paste it into InsightfulPipe, which checks it with Clarity and stores it encrypted. Your AI client signs in to the MCP server with your InsightfulPipe account and never sees the token.

Microsoft limits Clarity API access to 10 requests per project per day, data from the last one to three days, and up to three dimensions per request. Queries work best when they are simple, single-purpose and name a time range. Session recordings and heatmaps are not included.
