Is this an official CallRail MCP server?

No. InsightfulPipe is an independent, hosted server that uses the CallRail API with your API key. InsightfulPipe is not affiliated with CallRail.

Which AI assistants does it work with?

Any AI client that supports remote MCP servers. The setup guide on this page covers Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI and Codex. You can also work with the same connected accounts from the terminal with the InsightfulPipe CLI.

Is there a Claude connector for CallRail?

Yes. In Claude, add https://callrail.insightfulmcp.com/ as a custom connector and authorize your InsightfulPipe account. You can also add InsightfulPipe from the Claude Directory, which connects all of your linked accounts at once.

Can I use the CallRail MCP server with ChatGPT?

Yes. Add the server URL as a custom connector in ChatGPT Developer mode, or add InsightfulPipe from the ChatGPT app directory to connect all of your linked accounts. Developer mode availability depends on your ChatGPT plan.

What CallRail data can my AI access?

Calls with filters such as date, company, tracker and tags, call details and recording links, page views for session-tracked calls, call summaries and time series, form submissions and summaries, SMS threads and text conversations, lead timelines, companies, trackers, tags, users, integrations, notifications, summary emails, message flows and caller IDs.

Can it change data in CallRail?

Yes. It can update calls, form submissions and SMS threads, send text messages, start outbound calls, and create or update companies, trackers, tags, users, integrations and filters, notifications, summary emails, message flows and caller IDs. It has no delete actions.

Can I connect multiple CallRail accounts?

Yes. After you enter an API key, you choose which CallRail account to connect, and each account becomes its own connection. Each connected account counts as one connection on your plan.

How does authentication work?

You paste a CallRail API key into InsightfulPipe. It is tested against the CallRail API, stored encrypted and used only for the account you select. Your AI client signs in to the MCP server with your InsightfulPipe account and never sees the key.

What are the limitations?

There is no Read-only connection mode and no delete actions. Recordings are returned as links, and the server has no dedicated action for call transcripts. Long lists are paged, and CallRail API rate limits apply, with automatic retries when CallRail asks the server to slow down.

How to connect the CallRail MCP server

Add the server URL to your AI client, then sign in with your InsightfulPipe account to authorize access. The server is hosted, so there is nothing to install.

A CallRail MCP server connects CallRail to AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for giving AI tools access to data and actions. Once connected, you can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor which sources drive calls, review leads and update call details in plain English.

Review the action settings before you start. CallRail connections do not have a Read-only mode and no CallRail action is classified as destructive, so every write action, including sending text messages and starting outbound calls, is on for a new connection. Owners, admins and operators can turn off any action per account, and restricted members only get read actions on accounts they are granted.
